President Donald Trump on Monday signed a memorandum directing Congress to review his order that temporarily bars Syrian refugees from entering the United States.
Trump’s order bars Syrian refugee entry to the U.S. indefinitely, barring refugees from six Muslim-majority countries, and barring entry for citizens of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Syria for 120 days.
It is one of the most severe travel restrictions ever imposed by the president.
